Blitz Chess Tournament #6 (Chess 960)

This is a 55-minute Fischer Random (Chess 960) tournament I competed in on lichess, namely the Estrin ArenaTournament. This tournament was played while broadcasting at . Time controls are set at 3 minutes per player.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. 1. Hi Jerry. Have you watched the Baku Olympiad Chess these days? I'd love to see you do an analysis video about the game between GM Le Quang Liem (Vietnam) and GM Kenny Solomon (South Africa). There are weird moves that could be very interesting that I'm not very clear about them. Hope you to see this. Thank you very much! Be a fan.

  2. Alex Yordanov here. Huge fan, Jerry ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry for the stalemate ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Do a crazy house tornament

  4. Why are there no chess960 OTB tournaments around the world? I have a conspirative feeling elites are trying to maintain classical chess, because money is still good i guess. Can someone give me a better suggestion?

  5. hahaha, that castling in the first game looked amazing!

  6. Whoa, so how exactly does castling work in this game?? Very confusing sometimes, esp. when the king and rook are next to each other.

  7. Can someone explain the scoring for this tournament? I'm seeing people get one, two three and four points from games. Something to do with 'being hot'?

  8. why isn't chess960 more popular? seems to me like regular chess is too much about memorizing specific lines.

  9. Thanks for keeping 960 alive, Jerry!
