Blitz Chess Tournament #21 (3|0)

This is a 57-minute tournament I competed in on lichess, namely an Hourly SuperBlitz Arena. I joined this one just a few minutes late. This tournament was played while broadcasting at . Time controls are set at 3 minutes per player.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. Consider subscribing here on YouTube for frequent content, and/or connecting via any or all of the below social medias. Your support is greatly appreciated. Take care, bye. πŸ˜€

  1. Hey when are you going to do a dual commentary with John or aman? Needs to happen bro

  2. this was hilarious πŸ˜„ love your commentary

  3. Why aren't you willing to collab or play with other youtubers, would love to see you in a match. Would be epic.

  4. How to procrastinate a Chess game like a champ.

  5. First game was hilarious "I should stop this stream right now and play the lottery"

  6. stop the stream and play lottery πŸ˜‚

  7. lolz "Droppin' Pawns". That should be your new catch phrase.

  8. Wow no dislikes, probably the only vid I've seen that on

  9. jery you on fire!!! I laughed a lot. thanks for great videos mann

  10. I'm residualinsight on lichess…always seeking casual ultra….would make my day if you play me some time πŸ™‚

  11. 0:13 which color is Jerry referring here? that field next to ChessNetwork?

  12. Thanks for showing the games Jerry! Much appreciated watching them.

  13. Jerry 18:40 u could just take the bishop with ure kingπŸ˜‚

  14. Jerry, that first game was incredible. You made your own luck, and rose to the occasion when you were under pressure. Congratulations!

  15. 39:57 "I think I'm prepared to give up… the dark square bishop" Clicks on Resign button. !!!

"Why though? Why would I do that?"

  16. I love your videos and your commentary Jerry. I'm always shocked though by how many simple tactics and captures you miss with your rating. I feel like you're thinking so much about position that you leave free pawns and pieces on the board a lot.

  17. That first game though! Amazing!

Edit: And the 2nd game as well!

  18. I'm sorry…..I don't have a square to spare

  19. at 49:08 wasnt Bf3 the way to go, eventually taking twice on f3 and invading with Qh3 then?

  20. Wow Jerry I could watch you play all day. I wanted to watch the stream live but I was busy playing myself.

Edit: That last game was typical of playing people below 1800 of lichess. They love aggressive play and tricks. Would love to see more of those

  21. Love your blitz tournament videos and a shocking first match!

  22. 43:33 Your game against WayanPrins was a very instructive tactical sequence. You thought …25. Qf2! would be killer, but you had a timely 26. Qxc7+ to save the game! Following the lichess analysis board and its suggestions, you maintain at least a 15 pawn advantage and you wrap it up with a neat knight fork to win the enemy Queen. I don’t know if you had time to review this game after the fact, but it was very instructional for me.

  23. This guy is so chill even when his clock is 0.86 seconds.

  24. Why do you never castle? Beacuse it is so defensive? I like castlin'

  25. As a long time sub and now Patreon contributor, I would just like to say thank you for all the brilliant content you put out, Jerry. Thoroughly enjoy your content and I have done so for many years now. Would love to see more recaps of interesting games from Norway Chess πŸ™‚

  26. I believe that Jerry's "knight pair" is "a nightmare" for his opponents. πŸ˜€

  27. 28:15 If this pawn ever movesssoohhhmygooodness he just moved

  28. edit: didnt see comments until first game lol

6:30 omg i said same. love your videos jerry. you're so fun to watch my man. I hope you put out videos forever, brother!

  29. Jeeeeez, Jerry. Playing on the edge this time!

  30. That first guy had it in the bag! Then trapped his own king hahaha

  31. At 30:52, as soon as the queen relinquished pressure on the rook, you had Rxh4, exploiting the pin.

  32. I'm speechless with that first game ending. What the absolute hell. Haha Jerry you GENIOUS.

  33. At 43:28, Qf2 just loses to Qxf6+, if Kg8 Rd8#, and if Kxf6 Ne5+ and you've picked up the knight outright.

  34. Jerry, you are fucking amazing man. If you only knew how much I'm learning from you. You also play the queen's gambit a lot, which is my favorite opening!!! Thank you so much and keep the videos coming!! I want to see more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. β€œI should stop this stream and do a lottery.” hahah, that made me laugh.
